Bio. CV. Research.
Hello! I'm an academic researcher, writer, and teacher currently based in Toronto, Canada. My research is in the global history of 19th century science with a special focus on British colonial fieldwork in Egypt. I have an Hons. BA and MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Toronto, and a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge. Currently I'm a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Postdoctoral Fellow at York University. My book project Archaeology in Ruins: Victorian Egyptology and the Making of a Colonial Field Science, provides a new account of the origins of “scientific” archaeological fieldwork in Egypt.
